Our non vehicle specific "DIY" (do-it-yourself) Rotrex based supercharger kit is meant to help you begin the process of supercharging your vehicle with a Rotrex C38R-112 supercharger. This supercharger is capable of producing 650+whp on a K-Series, specifically.
This kit is intended to fit a K-series K20A/K24Z native or engine swapped vehicle of any kind including K-series based sandrails, dune buggies, boats, amphibious WaterCars, Austin Minis, etc!
We do not offer intercooler systems or pre-made fuel systems for our DIY kits but we can help you supercharge your car with general guidelines and tips if you reach out to us with a support ticket.
The mounting location of the supercharger is near the bottom of the engine block near the oil pan mating surface, and thus it takes the location of where a factory AC compressor is found in a street car. Due to this, our K-series Rotrex C38R-112 supercharger model specific kits are commonly referred to as "RACE" kits. Therefore, while it is lost by default, you are able to reinstall AC using an aftermarket Treeligo 12v version electric AC compressor as found online. No changes are needed to the factory HVAC system other than having a specialized AC shop extend existing refrigerant lines to the new compressor location and wiring up 12v power & the OEM on/off trigger to it. Even if you choose not to implement AC, the vehicle will still retain cabin heat.
With our K-series "DIY" kit, you will need to:
1) Select if you will or will not be purchasing the Rotrex supercharger unit from us in addition to the MDP Rotrex C38R supercharger bracket.
2) Acknowledge that you will need to obtain a K-tuned Manual Serpentine Belt Tensioner elsewhere (Part numbers: KTD-SMP-K20 or KTD-SMP-K24 as seen at https://k-tuned.3dcartstores.com/Side-Mount-Pulley-Kit_p_481.html).
3) Acknowledge that you will need to obtain an ATI damper for which to install our crank damper shell onto (Part number: ATI 918477)
4) Acknowledge that you will need to obtain a 2003-2007 Acura RDX (K23) water pump elsewhere and oval the bolt holes of the water pump to align with the mounting holes on your existing waterpump housing or swap to a K24A1 housing for a direct fit.
5) Plan your intercooler and fuel setup. We are happy to provide a few tips and tricks once you're in the build phase with your DIY supercharger kit!
